Assistant Engineer, age 24 to 28

years and unmarried, must be a regularly-trained Oivil Engineer, and have passed the Inst. O.E. examination qualifying for Asso- ciate Membership or have obtained an exempting degree; must be a good draughtsman, well up in levelling, land surveying and sounding, having had experience in the design and construction of sewer and stormwater drainage works. Should have served in some branch of H.M's. Forces during the late War unless satisfactory reasons for not having done so can be furnished.

Duties:- Preparing detailed drawings,

setting out, assisting in the supervision and measuring-up of the following works during oon- struction:- concrete sewers, storm- water drains and culverts, sea and quay walls on rubble foundations, re-inforced concrete piers, retain- ing walls and reclamation.

£400 to £600 by annual increments

of £20.

The salary is payable in dollars in accordance with Government Regula- tions.

Rent allowance in accordance with

Government Regulations. Salary voted annually.

To be appointed on a 3-years*

agreement with possible extension and the usual terms as to passage, &C..
